Our story

Two brothers.

We moved from Barcelona to Truckee when we were 15 and 13. Grew up working alongside the people who keep this community running—in hospitality, construction, property maintenance, landscaping etc. We even ran our own window-cleaning operation, so we know firsthand what small local teams are up against.

At UC Davis, we studied biotech and aerospace engineering. Different fields, same instinct: understanding complex systems and making them useful. We became power users of AI in our classes and labs. Soon we were helping businesses run by family and friends—solving everyday problems, saving them time and helping small teams do more with the resources they had.

That’s when we saw the gap. AI keeps getting better, but most owners don’t have the time or a tech team to put it to work. So we started Canguru.ai to build practical AI for the kind of teams we grew up working alongside.
